|On behalf of the PGA TOUR, welcome to the 2017-18 PGA TOUR Season.|
For the fifth time, the TOUR embarks on a wraparound schedule which bridges two years with 48 events. The 2017-18 PGA TOUR Season kicks off in early October, with the Safeway Open, and includes three more domestic and four international tournaments, providing players with a great opportunity to get a jump in the FedExCup standings. The schedule then resumes in January with the traditional swing through Hawaii before moving to the West Coast. The FedExCup Playoffs once again features four events and concludes in September 2018 at the TOUR Championship and the crowning of the FedExCup champion.
In its 12th year in 2018, the FedExCup continues to leave a lasting impression as we say goodbye to one season and look to the next. In 2017, Justin Thomas won the second event of the Playoffs, the Dell Technologies Championship, on his way to being named the FedExCup champion and Player of the Year. Thomas clinched the title during his five-win season with a second-place finish at the TOUR Championship. This season, the four playoff venues are: The Ridgewood Country Club (THE NORTHERN TRUST), TPC Boston (Dell Technologies Championship), Aronimink Golf Club (BMW Championship) and East Lake Golf Club (TOUR Championship).
In 2017, more than $180 million was generated for charitable causes bringing the all-time total to $2.65 billion. Having reached this record milestone, we extend a special thank you to the players, tournaments, sponsors, volunteers and fans that have helped improve countless numbers of lives through PGA TOUR charities.
Again, thank you for your continued coverage of the PGA TOUR. Our communications staff looks forward to delivering the best possible service to you in the coming year.
