World Golf Village

The World Golf Hall of Fame and Museum is located at World Golf Village, a 6,300-acre golf resort and residential community located 10 minutes northwest of historic St. Augustine, Fla., 30 minutes south of Jacksonville and 20 minutes from TPC Sawgrass. Named the 20th "Best Golf Resort" in Golf World’s 2010 Reader’s Choice Awards, World Golf Village draws guests from all over the United States and from around the world, offering a wide variety of recreational, entertainment, corporate meeting and residential options.

As the centerpiece of the Village, the World Golf Hall of Fame honors and celebrates the game’s greatest players and contributors. The Hall of Fame features personal memorabilia and special exhibits that highlight its more than 141 members, as well as historical and interactive displays that enable visitors to see and experience some of golf’s most-exciting aspects. Part of the Hall of Fame experience includes a round on the 18-hole, natural-grass putting course and a film at the adjacent IMAX Theater, which was upgraded to IMAX 3D Digital technology in 2011.

The World Golf Hall of Fame’s championship golf courses at World Golf Village include King & Bear, the only course co-designed by World Golf Hall of Fame members Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus, and Slammer & Squire, built by Bobby Weed with design consultants Sam Snead and Gene Sarazen, also World Golf Hall of Fame members. Both courses, which have hosted multiple nationally televised broadcasts, combine challenging obstacles with playability for all levels of golfers.

The PGA TOUR Golf Academy at World Golf Village offers private lessons, clinics and golf schools by top-rated instructors who involve teaching and video analysis systems into the lessons. From the state-of-the-art facility, featuring 2,700 square feet of multiple-covered tee areas and all-weather hitting bays to highly personalized instruction, the Academy highlights each student’s unique needs and skill level resulting in a tailored game plan for improvement.

Around the Village’s Walk of Champions—a half-mile brick walkway featuring engraved Hall of Fame member signatures in granite—are dining options, including Murray Bros. Caddyshack, the flagship restaurant of actor-golfer Bill Murray and his brothers, as well as the Villagio Italian Grille at the Renaissance Resort, featuring a range of traditional Italian Fare. Golfers can find anything and everything they’ll need for their time on the course at the PGA TOUR STOP, one of the largest golf stores in the country. Just a few steps away along the Walk of Champions, patrons can attempt to hit a ball 132 yards to the Challenge Hole’s island green.

Accommodations at World Golf Village include the newly remodeled flagship Renaissance World Golf Village Resort and Convention Center that features 301 completely remodeled guest rooms and suites. In 2011, the hotel completed a renovation and expansion of its outdoor meeting, event and recreational space. The large project included new and expanded outdoor function space; a beautiful new fountain called La Piazza; a picturesque new gazebo; and a new and expanded pool deck with new seating area. The new outdoor function space, now named La Terrazza, is able to accommodate groups of up to 2,000 guests.

Grande Villas at World Golf Village, a Bluegreen Vacation Club resort, offers country club vacation homes that overlook the 17th and 18th holes of Slammer & Squire golf course. The Village also includes Spa Laterra, a day spa offering a full complement of massages, facials, body scrubs and wraps, makeup artistry, hair care and nail services.

The Neighborhoods of World Golf Village offer distinctive residential communities that blend world-class amenities with the convenience of shopping, healthcare, entertainment, first-rate schools and incredible golf.
