Byron Nelson Award

The Byron Nelson Award is based on each player’s adjusted scoring average. The adjusted score is computed from the average score of the field at each tournament. As a result, a player’s score may be higher or lower than his actual score. Actual scoring average was used to determine the scoring leader prior to 1988.

In order to qualify for the Byron Nelson Award, a player must compete in a minimum of 50 official rounds on the PGA TOUR.
